1. General Overview
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern the rental of vehicles by DKS Car Rental (“DKS”). By renting a vehicle from DKS, you (“the Renter”) agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms. Please read them carefully.
2. Eligibility Requirements
To rent a vehicle from DKS, you must:
– Be at least 18 years old (age requirements may vary depending on vehicle type).
– Hold a valid driver’s license recognized in the country of rental.
– Present a valid credit card in your name for payment and deposit purposes.
3. Vehicle Collection & Return
– Vehicles must be collected and returned at the agreed time and location specified in the rental agreement.
– Late returns may incur additional charges.
– The vehicle must be returned with the same fuel level as when collected. Refueling charges will apply if the vehicle is returned with less fuel.
– Any damage to the vehicle or missing items will be the Renter’s responsibility and may incur additional charges.
4. Rental Period & Extensions
– The rental period is as stated in the rental agreement.
– Extensions of the rental period are subject to availability and must be arranged with DKS in advance. Additional charges may apply.
5. Payment Terms
– Rental charges are payable at the time of booking or upon vehicle collection, as agreed.
– Accepted payment methods include major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, etc.).
– A security deposit will be taken at the start of the rental, which will be refunded after the vehicle is returned in satisfactory condition.
6. Insurance & Liability
– Basic insurance coverage is included in the rental price, subject to an excess amount, which the Renter may be liable to pay in the event of damage or loss.
– Optional additional insurance can be purchased to reduce the excess liability.
– The Renter is responsible for any fines, penalties, or legal fees arising from the use of the vehicle during the rental period.
7. Vehicle Use
– The vehicle must be used in accordance with the laws and regulations of the country where it is rented.
– The vehicle must not be used for illegal activities, racing, towing, or off-road driving (unless expressly permitted).
– The Renter must not allow unauthorized persons to drive the vehicle.
8. Breakdown & Accidents
– In the event of a breakdown, the Renter must contact DKS immediately. Assistance will be provided, and if necessary, a replacement vehicle may be arranged.
– In the event of an accident, the Renter must notify DKS and the local authorities, as required by law. A police report may be required.
9. Cancellation & No-Show Policy
– Cancellations made within the specified period (as outlined during booking) may be eligible for a refund.
– No-shows (failure to collect the vehicle) will result in a forfeiture of any prepaid amount.
10. Personal Data
– DKS collects and processes personal data in accordance with applicable data protection laws. Your personal information will be used to facilitate the rental process and may be shared with third parties involved in the rental service.
11. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
– These Terms are governed by the laws of the country in which the rental is made.
– Any disputes arising from these Terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in that country.
12. Amendments to Terms
– DKS reserves the right to amend these Terms at any time. Any changes will be posted on our website and will apply to new rentals from the date of posting.
